Highland Cattle are one of the oldest purebred cattle breeds in the world, extremely hardy and first developed on the cold north Atlantic coast of Scotland. A heavy coat insulates against a harsh climate and reduces the need to develop excess back fat.

Pure Highland Beef is slow maturing, lean, firm and very low in fat while at the same time rich in protein and iron. It is unsurpassed for flavour, tenderness and juiciness which comes from having just the right amount of marbling through the meat to give that succulent flavour so typical of old fashioned traditional beef.

Recent studies have shown that Highland Beef is consistently much lower in fat content and cholesterol than other breeds. It is so lean that it compares with chicken and fish fat content.
